This a monthly emergency grant funding opportunity for Alaska non-profits to advocate, educate, and support the populations they serve furthering intersectional feminist ideals of societal change, equity, and transformation. This funding opportunity for 2024 will open May 30, 2024!

In 2023, organizers began the Fabulous Feminists Inc.
The evolution of the institution of the Fairbanks feminist movement to Fabulous Feminists Inc. will ensure lasting financial support for intersectional feminism throughout Alaska. Funds raised by the Fabulous Feminist Fundraiser event will be awarded to non-profits that have a plan to make meaningful high-impact changes to Alaska’s societal systems to ensure equity for all Alaskans.
The Alaska Advocacy & Impact monthly grant funding is currently the only one of its kind.
Having a monthly funding opportunity is critical during these tumultuous times where human rights, state funding, and basic needs of Alaskans are not guaranteed.
Timely advocacy from non-profits impact the direction of these societal tipping points of our great State.
Emergency direct impact funds can save lives when attacks, cuts, and lack of support negatively impact the lives of Alaskans. This funding supports emergency needs to advance intersectional feminist values across Alaska.
We will provide grants in an objectively decided manner to organizations that will apply monthly.
The History - Fairbanks Feminists Revolution Evolution
In the 1980’s, Fairbanks Feminist of the year award was a tradition of the Fairbanks National Organization for Women (NOW). The award celebration was held at Soapy Smith’s Restaurant on 2nd Avenue. Awards were given out, there was a live auction by Susan Stitham, and fun was had by all. Susan Stitham, Ruth Lister, Susan McGinnis, and Pam Bradley were just some of the trailblazers in attendance. The celebration was also held at Clinkerdagger’s on Airport way.
By the early 1990’s the event became known as the Fabulous Feminist Fundraiser (FFF). The event was organized by an informal group of Fairbanks based powerhouse feminist volunteers to raise funds for the Alaska Women’s Lobby (AWL) and other Alaska feminist efforts.
Throughout the history of Fabulous Feminists, organizers of these gatherings have been steadfastly pro-choice. The Fairbanks Feminists halted its annual event when the pandemic hit in 2020. On June 24, 2022, began the post-Roe era. The Fabulous Feminists are needed now more than ever.
In 2023, organizers have taken the next step and launched Fabulous Feminists Inc.
